For Crunchyroll and HIDIVE, May is all about weekly simulcasts, with heavy hitters like Re:ZERO Season 4 and Witch Hat Atelier keeping the momentum going. But Netflix is stealing the spotlight, dropping a wave of beloved catalog titles including Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, Blue Lock, My Dress-Up Darling, and the long-awaited arrival of the rom-com classic Horimiya. Not all news is good, though. Mob Psycho 100 Season 1 leaves Netflix on May 22—your final chance to binge the Studio Bones classic. No new series are premiering on HIDIVE in May 2026. However, ongoing exclusives continue their availability, and May is a great time to catch up.

Note on Chained Soldier Season 2: The season premiered January 8, 2026, and concluded in March. May is an excellent time to catch up before summer.

No major departures confirmed for HIDIVE in May 2026 at this time.

However, HIDIVE has been rotating its catalog throughout 2026. Notable recent departures (already passed) include The Promised Neverland (January 8) and other Sentai licenses.  Keep an eye on HIDIVE’s official announcements for any May removals.

Hulu continues its weekly simulcast dominance, with ongoing Spring 2026 series and library updates.

Most importantly: If you haven’t watched Mob Psycho 100 Season 1, binge it before May 22. The iconic Studio Bones series—directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa and featuring some of the most inventive animation of the past decade—is leaving Netflix as part of a larger licensing rotation. 

May is a light month for new streaming additions, which is typical for mid-spring. The heavy lifting was done in April with the Spring 2026 season premiere. Use May to catch up on simulcasts before the summer season begins.

What to watch this May:

• On Netflix: Finally dive into Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 (the Shibuya Incident arc is essential viewing) , or wait for Horimiya to drop later in the month. 

• On Crunchyroll: Keep up with Re:ZERO Season 4 and Witch Hat Atelier—two of Spring 2026’s strongest offerings.

• On HIDIVE: Catch up on Chained Soldier Season 2 before summer’s new lineup arrives.
